Over een klein uurtje gaan we met de groep de bus pakken naar het vliegveld. Het vliegtuig naar Sao Paulo vertrekt 2 uur eerder, helaas gaat het vliegtuig van Sao naar Frankfurt niet eerder en gaan we daar dus lekker lang moeten wachten. Tas is inmiddels gepakt en ben klaar om te vertrekken. Vind het wel echt vet jammer dat we weer terug moeten, was echt supergaaf hier, echt een mooie GBE gehad. Had prima nog een tijdje willen blijven :)

Vandaag zijn we naar Atucha 1 en 2 geweest. Dit zijn twee kerncentrales die in de buurt van Buenos Aires liggen. Atucha 1 is al operationeel en aan Atucha 2 wordt nog gebouwd. We mochten bijde kerncentrales zien. De tocht door Atucha 2 was vooral vet gaaf, dit is omdat alles nog open ligt en je dingen kan zien die je normaal niet te zien krijgt in een kerncentrale.

Wat leuk om al die berichtjes zo lezen! Zou er naast de deelnemers ook maar iemand zijn die ze lezen? In elk geval; wij zijn vandaag naar de Tigre Delta geweest. Dit was, evenals gisteren, een zeer relaxte dag waarin we eigenlijk meer vrij hadden dan een echt vastomlijnd programma. Persoonlijk kwam mij dat wel goed uit omdat ik nog wel een aantal uurtjes extra uitrusten kon gebruiken! Ik zou graag een mooier verhaal willen opschrijven, maar ik denk dat ik dat ga bewaren voor het eindverslag! Besos, Sam.

Voor de tweede keer dansles gehad in de tango club hier 5 minuten met de taxi vandaan. We beginnen het al aardig onder de knie te krijgen. Alleen was het deze keer wel veel drukker waardoor we niet echt de mogelijkheid kregen om onze stapjes te oefenen zonder een paar botsingen te maken. Zoals Morten al schreef zijn we vandaag naar Uruguay geweest, Colonia (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=-34.461843,-57.86396&spn=0.100207,0.154495&t=h&z=13) om precies te zijn. Een leuk dorp wat (als ik het mij goed herrinner) door de man van Boskalis werd beschreven als een soort van volendam; overal kon je fietsen, scooters, buggies en golfkarretjes huren. Helaas wat ik van mijn groep de enige die een rijbewijs meegenomen had. Dus gingen we maar fietsen. Ook leuk, maar helaas konden we ook niet echt kwaliteit eisen voor de fietsen van 4 euro voor een dag huur. Mijn zadel was veel te laag, van sommige deed de rem het niet echt en slechts een fiets had versnellingen. Morgen kunnen we een beetje uitslapen (pas om 10h vertrek). Daarna vertrekken we naar een natuurgebied genaamd Tigre waar we onderandere kano's kunnen huren. Nu is het tijd voor mijn om de lakens op te zoeken want het is hier onderhand ook al 2h 's nachts.

Er miste nog een berichtje over gisteren, dus bij deze wat verlaat :P Allereerst zijn we naar de Universidad del Cine geweest, alwaar we te horen kregen hoe de studenten leren films te maken, en vervolgens hebben we drie korte films te zien gekregen. Heel anders dan in Nederland hebben ze hier niet een zeer select aantal plaatsen, maar zijn er juist heel veel studenten. Toch heeft de school een erg goede naam. Daarna kregen we na de lunch een presentatie van een manager van Boskalis. De beste man had al met pensioen kunnen zijn, maar is dat gewoon niet. Vol enthousiasme praatte hij over baggeren, iets waar ik persoonlijk eigenlijk niet veel mee heb. Maar hij wist het zo vol passie te brengen dat het een van de interessantere praatjes van de reis tot nu toe was. Gelukkig was hij ook dolblij met onze stroopwafels :P Tenslotte de klapper van de dag: fietsen door de stad. Toen we daar aankwamen had het alle tekenen van een truttig tochtje op fietsjes met mandjes door de stad. Allemaal in een rijtje achter elkaar, achter de gids blijven, goed uitkijken, ook als je groen had, etc. Gelukkig konden we de gids uitleggen dat we in Nederland wel weten wat fietsen is, en even later gingen we vijf breed door rood over de zesbaansweg. Al met al een erg leuke combinatie van lekker fietsen (verrassend hoe je dat al na anderhalve week zo hebt gemist) en dingen leren over de stad en diens geschiedenis. Al met al een erg geslaagde dag :D

3de dag in Buenos Aires en dankzij een programmawijziging de hele dag vrij. Ondanks dat we ons erg op het museum verheugd hadden, kwam een vrije dag als geroepen. De stad in gegaan, souveniertjes gekocht, geslapen in het park :p en terrasjes gepakt met 28 graden en geen wolkje in de lucht! Heerlijk! Morgen naar de UBA! Zin in! Liefs Ps. Hoi mam en pap!

Na een lange reis zijn we flink uit eten geweest in een Argentijns restaurant. Vooral de "Bife de Chorizo" werd gegeten. Deze halfdoorbakken biefstukken nestelden zich met wijn en salade gelukzalig in mijn maag.

We zijn aangekomen in Buenos Aires. Na een lange reisdag met twee vluchten en wat slaap tekort zijn we aangekomen in een super mooi hostel. Iedereen is zich nu aan het installeren. Vanavond gaan we met zijn allen uit eten in de stad van de tango.

En we zijn in Foz do Iguazu! Ons hostel is echt geweldig. Er is een zwembad met een bar waar een caipirinha 4 real (1,35 euro) kost. Er hangen hier ook oevral hangmaten en het is hier ee nerg tropisch sfeer. De personeel is heel aardig en kan engels. We hebben vandaag ook even de stad bezocht. De hostel had voor ons plaats gereserveerd in een buffet restaurant. Het was heel lekker. Daarna is een groep de stad in gegaan en een ander groep is terug naar de hostel gegaan. Het is nu midden nacht hier, we zitten lekker bij het zwembad, de bar is open, er is muziek en iedereen vermaakt zich prima. Dit is een stukje hemel op aarde hier!

De zevende dag alweer, ongelooflijk, dit gaat veel te snel! De heenreis verliep voorspoedig en in het hostel waren we snel op ons gemak. Hoewel je met de medewerkers verbaal lastig communiceert,is er met gebarentaal alles te regelen. Vooral Theresa is een schat (ze doet nu mn was). Op zaterdag ging ik met Pjotr, Tjitske en Roel de stad verkennen. Nadat Roel in een klassieke stationshal op een openbare piano "the girl from ipedema" (bossanova) vertolkte, sprak een Braziliaan ons hierover aan in het nabijgelegen park. Na een geannimeerd gesprek, gaf hij Roel een illegale dvd cadeau. Verder liepen we bijvoorbeeld stratenlang over de lokale markt, de drukte was groot. Zonder andere toeristen te zien, mengden we met de Braziliaanse bevolking. Plotseling liepen we daarna in het westerse stadscentrum. In een restaurant aten we flink vlees, onder het genot van live muziek zoals van de "Buena Vista Social Club" (volledig in stijl). Nadat we deels een dienst bijwoonden in de kathedraal (met indrukwekkend orgel) besloten we onze dag in het grote Ibirapuera park, op een bankje in de zon tussen het gevoeder van exotische eenden.

's Ochtends Santos bezocht, de havenstad vlakbij Sao Paulo, alwaar we het koffiemuseum hebben bezocht. Een mooie oude (zeg maar vervallen) binnenstad gecombineerd met hoge temperatuur - gegarandeerd plezier. Het was dan ook een heel prettig vooruitzicht om te weten dat we 's middags het strand van Guaruja zouden bezoeken. Na een te lange busreis die ons helaas de uitgebreide lunch kostte, kwamen we er toch. Werkelijk heerlijk gezwommen, ge-zonne- en schaduwbaad, heerlijk warm water en golven waar je op kunt surfen: superb en relaxed. Robert gaf een sterk staaltje capoeirakunsten te zien en was zelfs zover te krijgen deze te delen met de andere groepsleden, wat tot fotografabele taferelen op het strand leidde. Bovendien samen gegeten bij een strandtent en sommigen vermaakten zich vervolgens prima met strandvolleyballen met locals.

Hoogtepunt van vandaag voor mij was de hoogste wolkenkrabber van Sao Paulo. Daar waren we met zn zevenen op de 42e verdieping (van de in totaal 46) en hebben we een prachtig uitzicht gehad over de hele stad! Als je over straat loopt heb je geen idee hoe groot de stad is (met 13 miljoen inwoners), pas als je zo hoog staat zie je hoe enorm groot het is. Het is een ware betonjungle, wolkenkrabbers tot zover je kan kijken! 360 graden rond! Om het verhaal van gisteren nog even af te maken, bij het grill-restaurant kon je onbeperkt vlees eten. Er was ook een niet-vlees-buffet waar je ook kon opschappen totdat je erbij neerviel. Eerst dat buffet, toen ik weer zat dacht ik: shit, nu ligt mn hele bord vol met niet-vlees. Nja snel deels opeten en daarna vlees. Er liepen in totaal zo'n 10 obers rond met spiezen met vlees erop, je kon zelf aangeven welk vlees je wilde en hoeveel. Ik kon niet opeten tegen de hoeveelheid vlees die op mijn bord terecht kwam :) Aan het eind van deze vlees-walhalla lag mijn halve bord nog vol met salade... Zeker weten 1 van de beste restaurents waar ik in mijn leven heb gegeten :P

Vandaag was er geen programma en mochten we zelf Sao Paulo verkennen. Ik ben samen met Cees, Roel en Tjitske naar de centrum van Sao Paulo afgereisd. We hebben de cathedraak van Sao Paulo gezien, en dit was net toen er een dienst gedraait werd. Er werd gezongen en op een orgel gespeeld en in zo'n grote cathedraal is het heel erg mooi om te horen want het geluid galmt overal. Verder hebben we een grote makrt bezocht, ik zelf was heel erg verbaast over alle fruit die ze daar hebben, de meeste kwam me niet bekend voor. Wat ons ook verbaast heeft is dat het centrum niet touristisch is. Er lopen eigenlijk alleen Brazilianen rond. Ook verschillen delen van het centrum enorm. Zo is er een de echte oude centrum, daar mogen geen auto's komen en er staan nog grote oude gebouwen die mooi met goud versiert zijn en dure winkels. Maar de rest van het centrum bevat juist de tegenovergestelde, veel niet onderhouden gebouwen en overal kleine kraampjes. Je kon er zelf een kokosnoot met een rietje krijgen, als je deze besteld dan halen ze een koksnoot uit een vriesvak en pakken ze een grote hakmes en hakken ze er een gat in waar ze dan het rietje in stoppen. Verder hebben we de treinstation van Sao Paulo bezocht en hebben we het park en hebben we kleine bandjes op straat gezien die ons deden denken aan de buena vista social club.

super toffe dag gehad! Vanochtend lekker vroeg opgestaan (gelukkig door het tijdsverschil was het voor ons gevoel niet 7=6h30 ;)). Het was de bedoeling dat we dat bus gingen nemen naar het instituur, maar helaas zijn de bussen hier net blikken sardientjes. Dus gingen we maar met de taxi. Dus 7 taxies vol naar IAG-USP.. Maar helaas wisten niet alle taxichauffeurs de weg naar het doel... Dus heb ik (Monique) met Samuel en Harry sightseeing tour door Sao Paolo meegemaakt maar hebben we uiteindelijk alsnog de universiteit gehaald! :) Toen interessante verhalen gehoord over geofysica, atmosferische wetenschappen, astrofysica. Daarna op de campus een weegschaal lunch gehad. Toen weer een taxirit naar UNIFESP waarbij ik (Gjalt) met Jasper, Mark A. en Robbert een geweldig taxirit hebben meegemaakt! We swingde over de wegen van Sao Paulo! :D Bij dit instituut stond health centraal.. en hebben we het Xingu museum bezocht, waar we geweldige toelichting hebben gehad... Daarna waren we vrij en iedereen kwam met andere spannende verhalen... Hierbij zijn een groep heren uit eten gegaan bij het luxe restaurant wat naast ons hostel is. Gisteren de eerste paar caiprinha's gedronken. De eerste was een erg goedkope in de middag en smaakte naar citroensap met veel wodka en zout. Op het eind van de dag werden we door een local gewezen op een terassje waar je erg goede kon bestellen. En inderdaad, ze waren erg lekker :P We zaten lekker op het terrasje op een gezellig drukke winkelstraat met de locals de drankjes te drinken toen ineens een horde van 300 man/vrouw zonder broek door de straten kwamen hobbelen. Het bleek no-pants-day te zijn :) Mooie ervaring. Het hostel waar we in zitten is prima, enige nadeel is dat het aan een goed drukke straat is gelegen waar het continue erg druk is. 's Ochtends 10 uur, 's middags 2 uur, 's avonds 10 uur en 's nachts 2 uur... het blijft continue even druk. Om het te vergelijken kun je je slaapzak pakken, naar de ringweg van Groningen lopen tijdens de spits, en naast de vangrail proberen in slaap te vallen. Verder echt supergaaf hier! Gaan nu grillhouse bezoeken, echt superlekker hier al het vlees! Moet gaan!
