Martijn Oudshoorn - Chairman

My name is Martijn, 22 years old and a 4th year Physics student. After several committees and a board year at FMF, it is time for a new challenge: Organizing an interesting trip to a foreign country! Besides that it is also fun to travel, meet new people and experience another culture.

Douwe Visser- Treasurer

My name is Douwe Visser, for this trip I'm your treasurer. Thus it is my responsibility to take care of your money. I can imagine that therefore you might want to know a bit more about me. I'm a fifth years physics and mathematics student. Also I still live, and lived my entire life, in a small village called Suwâld. My hobbies are playing puzzles, socializing and of course traveling. Though my interests are many more diverse. My motto for this trip is organising the greatest experience of your life.

Nick Lutjes - Business commissioner

Hi! I am Nick Lutjes and currently 23 years old. I am an Applied Physics student and I am currently a board member of the FMF. Besides the board I have done several committees at the FMF and I love to travel. I'm going to put the cherry on the cake by putting all this experience into organizing one hell of a trip together with my fellow committee members, to an awesome destination! I can't wait to visit Japan and I hope you're as excited to go as I am!

Emily Mook - Business commissioner

My name is Emily Mook and I'm one of the two case-commissioners of the GBE- committee this year. I'm a physics bachelor student in the track energy and environmental sciences. In my spare time I like to dance, make music, try new things and explore different places. Most importantly, my favourite junkfood is a "kroket".

Dewy Peters - Day commissioner

I'm Dewy Peters, aged 19 and completing my first year of studying Physics and Astronomy. There is nothing that motivates me more in life than the desire to adventure and break boundaries. I've always loved to travel, experience new cultures and learn new languages. As an international student from the United Kingdom, it is this very philosophy that compelled me to come and study in Groningen: I wished to experience life in a country I knew little about. The last year has been very interesting for me and now I wish to push myself even further; by helping to organize an unforgettable excursion to Japan, to experience a culture so different from the one we have in western Europe and to share that experience with others.

Hallo Aberly - Day commissioner!

Hi, I am Hallo Arbely (25) and I am studying physics since 2012. Dejima '17 will be as beautiful as cherry blossoms in April because I will do the best I can as being one of the day program commissioners. In Japan it is possible to be served by robots, joining a J-pop performance and becoming a sushi chef for a day. Travelling might be my biggest hobby since I spend all my money on it. It does not matter how big the adventure is (a day trip to the most unknown museum in Amsterdam or a holiday in Istanbul), discovering places is what I like. Beside travelling I like to read (fiction) and to sport.
